A versatile illustrator that uses many mediums to bring stories to life.

Devan (Bugsy) is an illustrator that works with several mediums to tell her stories. She graduated from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration: Concept Art; and is fluent in Japanese. While attending RMCAD, she worked part time at an animal shelter as a cattery attendant, giving her lots of time to draw from observation.

Bugsy’s process is multifaceted as it generally starts in a sketchbook then moves to either digital or traditional mediums depending on the piece. The traditional mediums can consist of oil, watercolor, ink, gouache, or acrylic, albeit the digital brushes do follow a similar quality.

Much of her inspiration comes from the Bible, Japanese culture, history, and life. Although her paintings tend to follow a more realistic style, she is also skilled in Children’s Book and Graphic Novel styles.
